Double Dan Horsemanship Set to Return for PNHS 2026

With world-class competition and top-notch entertainment, this year’s 80th edition of the Pennsylvania National Horse Show promises to be better than ever! Here are just a few of the special event highlights you are not going to want to miss this October 8-18 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa.

Double Dan Horsemanship Is Back!

We are thrilled to welcome back Dan James of Double Dan Horsemanship for not one, but two incredible evenings of performances! Dan will be performing on both Friday, October 16 (during the $30,000 Commonwealth Classic) and Saturday, October 17 (during the $100,000 Grand Prix de Penn National). You are not going to want to miss your chance to see this extraordinary horseman live in the ring!

Special Events This Year

There is something for everyone at the 2026 PNHS. Here’s a look at a few of the special events that you will want to save the date for!

🐴 Free Family Fun Day — Saturday, October 10, 1–4 p.m. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of free fun! Activities include face painting, wagon rides, arts and crafts, behind-the-scenes barn tours, a scavenger hunt, horse meet and greets, and much more — all at no cost.

🦊 Hunt Night — Monday, October 12 Celebrate the timeless tradition of the hunt field as more than a dozen hunts from throughout the tri-state area compete for top honors in Field Hunter, Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Team classes. Don’t miss the beloved Parade of Hounds! Admission and parking are free.

🏆 Team Night — Friday, October 16 Round up your barn mates, IEA team, 4-H club or any group you call your squad and join us for Team Night at the $30,000 Commonwealth Classic! Compete for prizes and cheer on the top riders as they take on a challenging course and jump-off round.

🌟 $100,000 Grand Prix de Penn National — Saturday, October 17 The grand finale of open jumper competition at Harrisburg! Watch some of the country’s biggest names in show jumping go head-to-head over fences set at 1.45–1.50m. Stick around after the class for an autograph signing with the top riders — plus Dan James of Double Dan Horsemanship performing live!
