Meet the PNHS Team: Alexis Clancy
Over the coming months, we’ll be shining a spotlight on core members of our PNHS team through short Q&As, sharing more about the people who help bring the show to life!
First up is the newest member of our PNHS family: Alexis Clancy. Alexis, of Crystal Lake, Ill., joined the staff earlier this year as our Sponsor & Vendor Concierge, and we are thrilled to have her. Read on to learn more about Alexis – and then don’t be surprised to hear from her about securing your sponsorship at this year’s PNHS!

Question: Tell us about your background in the horse world and your experience leading up to this position.

Answer: My background combines promotion and sponsorship coordination with hands-on event experience. I first got into promotional work at B98, a major pop music radio station in Chicago, where I helped manage large accounts and worked closely with the promotions team to bring campaigns to life. I really thrived in that fast-paced, collaborative environment.
In 2018, I joined Showplace Productions and stepped into the horse show world from a new perspective. I had been an exhibitor at Showplace shows since 1998, so transitioning behind the scenes was especially meaningful. Since then, I’ve taken on a range of roles, including horse show secretary, awards coordinator and social media manager. Those experiences have given me a strong, well-rounded understanding of show operations and how I can contribute effectively. When the opportunity came up to combine my experience in sponsorship and event coordination with PNHS, it felt like a natural next step!
Q: What are you most looking forward to in your new role as the Sponsor & Vendor Concierge?
A: I’m really excited to meet all of our sponsors and learn more about what they do. From the sponsors I’ve connected with so far, it’s been inspiring to see how many great companies are out there looking to give back to the community in meaningful ways. I’m also really excited for the two weeks of the horse show—celebrating all of our winners and being part of the 80th year makes it even more special.
Q: If you could ride any horse, past or present, which horse would you pick?
A: If I could ride any horse, I would choose my first Children’s Jumper, Romp. We qualified for the PNHS in 2004, but I ended up not going—which is still one of my biggest regrets. I’d love the chance to go back and share that experience with him.
Q: Who are the horses and dogs currently in your life?

A: I have a 9-year-old Holsteiner named Lucas 11, as well as three dogs. Zaba (which means frog in Polish) is a chocolate and tan short hair Mini Dachshund. She is 11 years old and only 9 pounds. Dash is brapple (dapple/brindle) long-haired Dachshund. He is 3 years old, and he grew up at the horse shows, so he is quite the greeter and office employee. Last but not least, Avery is a 12-year-old brindle Lab/Terrier mix.
