Established in 1999, the PNHS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization which provides support for therapeutic riding programs, equine rescue efforts and the education and training of persons in equestrian endeavors. In 2022, the PNHS Foundation awarded over $50,000 in grants to recipients both local and across the nation! 2023 marks the 8th annual Therapeutic Riding Championships, scheduled to take place on Foundation Friday, October 20th at The Pennsylvania National Horse Show in the Harrisburg Coliseum (Main Arena) at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA. Initiated in 2016, Foundation Friday is the setting for 2 Riding Championships – Walk (Assisted) and Walk/Trot (Unassisted) – and the presentation of the Foundation "Therapy Horse of the Year" Award. Riders qualified for these Championship classes by competing in any one of the qualifying competitions held throughout the summer months at local horse shows.
