US EQUESTRIAN NAMES PENNSYLVANIA NATIONAL HORSE SHOW AS HOST OF 2022-2024 USEF/NCEA JUNIOR HUNTER SEAT MEDAL FINALS
Harrisburg, PA – US Equestrian has named the Pennsylvania National Horse Show as the host of the USEF/National Collegiate Equestrian Association Junior Hunter Seat Medal Finals – East for three years beginning in 2022. The 2022 USEF/NCEA Finals – East will be held on Saturday, October 22, during the PNHS at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA.
The USEF/NCEA Junior Hunter Seat Medal Finals are an expansion of the NCEA’s existing Junior Hunter Seat Medal program, which seeks to introduce riders to the NCEA’s format of hunter/jumping seat equitation collegiate riding.
A task force appointed by US Equestrian President Tom O’Mara was formed with the purpose of reviewing the bid applications and providing a recommendation of host sites for the prestigious finals for the 2022-2024 competition years in the East, Central, and West regions. The task force reviewed the submitted bid applications and considered many factors, including the facility, scheduling, competition environment, and migration of exhibitors. Each host venue was ultimately selected because they presented the best options for those factors. The Central finals will be held on September 10 at the Showplace Fall Classic in Roscoe, IL, and the West finals will be held on November 12 during the National Sunshine Series II in Thermal, CA.
“We’re thrilled to have been selected to host the USEF/NCEA Junior Hunter Seat Medal Finals,” said Susie Shirk, Executive Director of the PNHS. “Our hope is to continue to grow and establish the PNHS as the premier indoor horse show in the country, while giving more exhibitors the opportunity to experience the rich history and tradition of the show and all that it has to offer.”
This year, in addition to the USEF/NCEA Junior Hunter Seat Medal Finals – East and the Dover Saddlery/USEF Hunter Seat Medal Final, the PNHS will host a college fair, making the show an ideal destination and hub for high school and collegiate equestrians.
