2017 PENNSYLVANIA NATIONAL HORSE SHOW ANNOUNCES MERGER

HARRISBURG, PA – Effective April 1, the Pennsylvania National Horse Show is pleased to announce the merger of its Association and 501c3 Foundation into a single entity, the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation.  The Foundation will maintain its established 501c3 status and all contributions and sponsorships will enjoy the tax benefits associated with the merger.

The PNHS Foundation exists to support therapeutic riding and equine rescue programs.  Last year’s recipients included 23 facilities serving therapeutic riders and equine rescue.  2016 marked the first year the Foundation highlighted its charities on “Foundation Friday.”  This second Friday of the ten-day horse show was dedicated to showcasing the work of the Foundation.  Two Championship therapeutic classes were held during the horse show and a PNHS Foundation “Therapy Horse of the Year” was named and honored in the main competition ring.

“Merging the Foundation and the Association into a single entity allows for better fundraising possibilities and a clearer connection between our charitable donations and the good work done by the Foundation,” said Susie Webb, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania National Horse Show.  “Our focus moving forward will be to continue to promote the Foundation and the therapeutic riding and equine rescue groups that we support.  We encourage our exhibitors to support the Foundation in this regard.”
